April Showers bring May flo.... Wait. What?

The school year is coming to a close and spring is here (Well, sort of. Winter and Spring are currently in a duel). It's hard to believe that I won't see the majority of my classmates again for over a year and a half after we all leave for the summer! Of course I'll see those in my class who are going to France with me in September when we leave (Less than 5 months away!). I'm not looking forward to the goodbyes; but am trying to make the most of the few weeks I have left here.

A few weeks ago, I went to the Como Zoo in St. Paul with a friend. The Conservatory was absolutely incredible! It was beautiful and it smelled heavenly! It made me so excited for Spring! I think experiencing those beautiful flowers helped me get through all the snow that has been falling recently. Here are some of the pretty flowers. :)

Today someone asked me how fundraising was going (which happens often). Fundraising is a very humbling experience in the sense that I'm not in control. I can't work and make enough to support myself. In order for my internship to be fully funded by supporters, I have to rely on the Lord, who supplies my needs. I'm excited though, to witness how God works this summer to send me to France!

This Spring, God has been teaching me a lot about resting in Him. Left to myself, I have the tendency of focusing only on the "doing" and not the "being." Instead of requiring a bunch of things from me, He wants me to simply be found in Him.  There is constantly things to occupy my time, whether it be homework, friends or entertainment. It's sometimes hard to stop and just be, with the world whizzing past at high speeds. But, I'm learning to rest. And that does not just mean getting a lot of sleep (although that's really nice), I've been learning how to truly rest. It's still hard for me to understand, because it's such a foreign concept. But, each day and each step at a time.

In Christ,

I've recently had the privilege of getting to photograph a few classmates for their prayer cards for internship. Below is the one I made for myself, and a sample of each of the girls I had the pleasure of capturing in film.
My prayer card (let me know if you would like one!)
