A Mid-Summer's Night Blog Post

My last post was over 3 months ago... Yikes! It's my intention to post twice a month, but obviously that hasn't been happening. :) I'll just give a brief update of my life so far this summer...

We had the opportunity to go to the French Alps for a week in the end of May! We went for our mid-internship retreat. The purpose of the retreat was to evaluate how things were going with internship and prepare for the second half of the Global Internship program. It was absolutely beautiful! After meeting in the mornings, we got to explore in the afternoons. It was such a nice time to relax and reflect. 

On our retreat, we did a mini photo shoot one afternoon since we were surrounded by such beauty! Above is a little collage with some photos from that. :)

From the middle of June to the middle of July, we had classes 4 days a week with Matt, who is the pastor of Evolution13 (the church plant we are a part of), and Steven Yoes, a pastor from Texas. We learned about Evangelism, Discipleship and Church Planting. It was a great class! Below is a photo with most of the people who were in the class with us. (My face is interesting... I think Matt was saying something ridiculous while he was taking the photo).

In other news, Evolution 13 recently bought a building! It's a cafe in Cours Julien (the arts district of Marseille). We have done a lot of work to renovate the building (and still are finishing the last room). I've been getting to use my skills that I learned on Paint Crew my freshman year of school at BCOM, fixing and painting the walls. We were able to meet for the first time in the new building for church last week, which was the final meeting before summer break. We will be starting weekly worship meetings in September! So exciting!
